The shipping functions provided in Commerce Suite system were designed to maximize flexibility for merchants and options for shoppers. Merchants want to be able to quickly and easily select carriers and modes as new ones become available on the market. And shoppers appreciate being given options relating to cost, speed and method of shipping. To achieve this flexibility, you can classify inventory based on common shipping requirements and then assign a unique shipping code to all the products within each group. For example, all books could be assigned a shipping code called “printed matter,” all compact discs could be assigned the code “small package,” and so forth. Shipping codes can be designated by a name or number.
Using shipping codes also enables you to ship similar products in the same manner, by linking them all to the same code. Any changes to the code will automatically be applied to all the products linked to that code. You can then select the desired combination of shipping carriers and services for each code, the effective dates that the carrier’s services are offered for that code, and how shipping costs are calculated (such as by weight or unit). By associating products with a shipping code, you can change the way all those products are shipped by just redefining the code. To offer shoppers increased shipping options, each code assigned to a product can be defined with more than one carrier, mode of service, and method for calculating the shipping cost. Shoppers can then choose the shipping option they want from the list you have created.
Shipping services which shipping carriers are used by the mall. The store administrator can then define the supported shipping providers. Shoppers can then choose from the shipping modes made available to them for the products they purchase. Shipping services can be customized. You can also integrate an existing automated shipping application instead of using the one that is supplied. Our prices do not include taxes and tariffs. Customers outside of the United States may be required to pay these fees to the courier, as applicable, upon delivery. For example, Canadian customers will be assessed the 7% GST (Goods and Services Tax) or the appropriate HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) or PST (Provincial Sales Tax) when the order arrives. Please consult your local customs office or tax authority for information specific to your situation.
